American Airlines To Move Terminals In Delhi

Passengers arriving into Delhi on American flight AA292 from Chicago on 28th July will be the first to experience the brand new state-of-the-art facilities at Terminal 3.

Philip Lewin, Country Manager India, American Airlines, commented: "American Airlines is delighted to be making the terminal move as it will result in an improved travel experience for our valued customers. Departing passengers will benefit from specially designed and dedicated US departure gates, which will allow pre-departure security formalities to be completed more efficiently and comfortably. Meanwhile, connecting customers will enjoy quicker and smoother onward transfers as international and domestic flights operate from the same terminal for the first time."

First and Business Class travellers will be able to use the brand new lounge of Kingfisher Airlines. Offering amenities, including showers and a wide range of hot and cold food choices, the lounge will be located past immigration and security, allowing customers to make full use of their time before heading to the gate. Alternatively, customers with perhaps a longer layover can take advantage of the 60-room transit hotel facility, which will be offering day rooms.

In a further upgrade, the Airport Express Metro Line is due to open in September to offer passengers improved connectivity to downtown New Delhi. With a journey time of just 18 minutes at speeds of up to 135km/h in air conditioned comfort, combined with the airport’s aim that 95% of all T3 passengers will take just 45 minutes from touchdown to exit the airport, American’s passengers will soon notice the many benefits the terminal move will bring.

In November American Airlines celebrates 5years service from Delhi. Kingfisher Airlines joins oneworld in 2011.
