American Airlines operates from Terminal 3 at Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) until the 1st of March 2012. From the 2nd of March onwards, American Airlines will not fly from Delhi to Chicago.
Check-In
We have several check-in options available:
- Check-in desks are located in Terminal 3, through Gate 6, Row M
- Online Check-In is available from 24 hours and up to 2 hours before your flight departure time

Please note that the American Airlines ticketing office is located outside the terminal at Delhi Airport. There is no ticket office inside the terminal.

American Airlines operates a number of clubs and lounges worldwide. At Indira Gandhi International Airport eligible customers can use the lounge provided by Kingfisher, where you can relax and unwind before your flight.

Lounge Access
You can access the lounge if you are one of the following:
- American Airlines First Class or Business Class passenger
- AAdvantage Platinum or Executive Platinum member
- oneworld Emerald and Sapphire tier members on an a flight operated by a oneworld member airline.
Passengers will receive an invitation to the lounge at the check in counter.
Guests
AAdvantage Executive Platinum / AAdvantage Platinum or oneworld Emerald / Sapphire members flying on a oneworld airline may bring one guest. First Class passengers can also bring one guest.

International Airport.
Where do I go once I’ve arrived at the airport?
Once you’ve arrived at Delhi airport, follow the yellow signs marked ‘Flight Transfer’ which will lead you to the correct terminal for your onward flight.
What happens if I do not have a boarding pass?
If you do not have a boarding pass you will need to see an American Airlines representative at the transfer area.
Do I have to pick up my luggage or re check-in again?
If your bags have been labelled to your final destination and you were given a boarding pass for your onward flight then your luggage will be taken care of.
How do I get between Terminals?
If you’re arriving on an international flight connecting to a domestic flight, a complimentary shuttle bus service is available every 20 minutes.
If you are connecting to domestic flights Jet Airways (9W), Kingfisher (IT) and Indian Airlines (IC) depart from Terminal 3.
Domestic flight Terminals are walking distance from each other (Terminal 1A, Terminal 1C & Terminal 1D – Arrival & Departures). There is also a complimentary golf cart service available.

XClose Travelling To / From Delhi Airport
When travelling to the airport, please allow yourself plenty of time. To help you on your way we have some travel suggestions below, but please check with the relevant operator before setting off to ensure you have the most up to date information.
Bus
The Airport Express Bus services links Terminal 3 Arrivals directly to ISBT (Inter state bus terminals) - Kashmere Gate, Paharganj, Dhaula Kuan Metro Station and Mayur Vihar (DTC Terminal). Shuttle bus services are also available to Terminal 1 and to the nearby Public Transport Center, where other local transportation options are available.
Car
Terminal 3 is easily accessible from the NH8 expressway linking New Delhi and Gurgaon; follow the signs for Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 3. Allow ample time to get there during rush hours.
A multi-level car park (MLCP) facility is available and is directly connected to Terminal 3.

Taxi
Taxis are the most convenient form of transport from/to Terminal 3, especially for those not familiar with the city. A number of reputable pre-paid taxi operators have counters in Terminal 3 Arrivals - it is recommended to use these instead of metered taxis. Do not accept offers from taxi touts.
Train
The Airport Express Metro line links the airport to downtown Delhi. The journey time is approximately 20minutes.
