Q. What is Online Check-In?
A. Online Check-In is a service that allows American Airlines, American Eagle and AmericanConnection® customers to check in for a flight from home, the office or anywhere there is an Internet connection.

Q. When can I use Online Check-In?
A. This service available 24 hours and up to 2 hours before the flight departure time and if:
- You are a US Passport holder, US Resident Card holder or a citizen of a US Visa Waiver Program participant country. - You have an AAdvantage® number and password and login to AA.com OR you know the name and record locator of the passenger. - Your first flight in your booking is operated by American Airlines, American Eagle or AmericanConnection. - Your seat has been assigned.

Q. When can't I use Online Check-In?
A. This service is not available if:
- You are NOT a US Passport holder, US Resident Card holder or a citizen of a US Visa Waiver Program participant country. - The first flight for which you are checking in for is NOT operated by American Airlines, American Eagle or AmericanConnection. - You are travelling on a military fare. - You are travelling with a pet. - You are travelling with an oxygen container. - You are travelling with an infant not occupying a seat

A. Please contact American Airlines Reservations on +91 124 4291200 or Toll free 1800 200 1800 between 9.00am-6.00pm Monday-Saturday. After 6.00pm (daily) call the American Airlines Airport Office on +91 11 4778 8500. At any other time, please call US Reservations on +1 800 433 7300.

Q. Can I change my reservations online after using Online Check-In?
A. No, you are not able to change your reservation online once you have checked in. For assistance please contact American Airlines Reservations on +91 124 4291200 or Toll free 1800 200 1800 between 9.00am-6.00pm Monday-Saturday. At any other time, please call US Reservations on +1 800 433 7300.

Q. What if I check in online and can't make my flight?
A. If you are unable to make your flights, please contact American Airlines Reservations on +91 124 4291200 or Toll free 1800 200 1800 between 9.00am-6.00pm Monday-Saturday. After 6.00pm (daily) call the American Airlines Airport Office on +91 11 4778 8500. Alternatively call US Reservations on +1 800 433 7300. You must contact American prior to flight departure to retain the value of your ticket. Charges or penalties may apply for changes, depending on the fare paid for the ticket.

Q. Can I check in for my return flight at the same time as my outbound flight?
A. AA.com allows customers travelling with e-tickets who have return flights within 24 hours of departure to check in for both outbound and return flight segments at the same time.

Q. Why am I required to provide infant information when I check in?
A. We gather this information to have an accurate record of all passengers onboard the aircraft.

Q. Can I check in if I have connecting flights?
A. Yes. When your connecting flight is an American Airlines, American Eagle or AmericanConnection operated flight, you will be able to check in and get a boarding pass for each flight.

Please note that boarding passes for carriers other than American Airlines, American Eagle and AmericanConnection may not be issued depending on our agreement with the carrier involved. You may still use Online Check-In for these carriers, but you will need to obtain a boarding pass directly from that carrier.

Q. What if I'm connecting to another airline?
A. You can check in when your connecting flight is on another carrier, as long as we have an e-ticketing agreement with that carrier

Q. Can I process the check in for everyone in my party at the same time?
A. Yes, as long you select all passenger names and all required documentation has been provided.

Q. Can I check in if I am travelling with an infant / child not occupying a seat?
A. No. Online Check-In is not available for an infant travelling internationally not occupying a seat. When travel is not within or between the U.S., infants under age two who do not pay a fare may be required to have a ticket. In addition, taxes may be assessed which can be significant.

Q. Can I view or change my seat assignment using Online Check-In?
A. Yes. When your itinerary is displayed prior to checking in, click the "Select" seats button to view or change your seat(s). You will be presented with a seat map showing available seats. Once you check in on AA.com, seat assignments can be viewed but cannot be changed.

Q. When do I need to provide my U.S. Resident card information?
A. When you have indicated the United States as your country of residence and your passport nationality is other than the United States you will be asked to provide U.S. Resident card information.

Q. How do I update the name on my AAdvantage account to match my passport?
A. If you need to update your first name or middle name, you can make a one-time change on AA.com by going to www.aa.com/MyAccount. If you need to make a change to your last name, go to www.aa.com/namechange for instructions. Both names must match to use Online Check-In.

Q. Why was I asked to enter my passport number and expiration date twice?
A. You will be asked to verify your passport number and expiration date for security purposes.

Q. Do I need to print my boarding pass?
A. Yes. You will be required to present your boarding pass or itinerary together with your passport to enter the terminal building.

Q. I forgot to print my boarding pass when I used Online Check-In? Can I go back and print it?
A. Yes. View instructions for printing your boarding pass once you’ve checked in. To get a copy of your boarding pass printed to enter the terminal, please go to the American Airlines airport ticket office at the Arrivals Level. If you are already inside the terminal go to the American Airlines Online Check-In counter in Row D.

A. To get a copy of your boarding pass printed to enter the terminal, please go to the American Airlines airport ticket office at the Arrivals Level. If you are already inside the terminal, contact any American Airlines staff member.

Q. What should I do if I received a boarding pass attachment in email, but I can’t view or print my boarding pass?
A. To get a copy of your boarding pass printed to enter the terminal, please go to the American Airlines airport ticket office at the Arrivals Level. If you are already inside the terminal go to the American Airlines Online Check-In counter in Row D.

Q. Can I get a boarding pass if I haven’t checked in?
A. No. You must check in before printing a boarding pass.

Q. Where do I check in my baggage after checking in online?
A. After you have checked in using Online Check-In, proceed to the designated American Airlines Online Check-in Counter in Row D

Q. What happens if I have excess luggage?
A. Fees for excess luggage cannot be paid online. At the airport you need to proceed to the designated American Airlines Online Check-in Counter in Row D to check-in your bags and pay the excess baggage fee

Q. Where should I go once I arrive at the airport with my boarding pass?
A. Please enter the terminal through Gate 2 and go to the American Airlines Online Check-in Counter in Row D to complete formalities and check in any bags. DO NOT proceed to the gate until you have first gone to the American Airlines Online Check-in Counter.

Q. Can I go straight to the gate if I’ve checked in using Online Check-In and have no bags to check in?
A. No. In order to complete pre-departure formalities you must first go to the American Airlines Online Check-in Counter in Row D. You may only proceed to the gate once these have been completed.

A. A paperless boarding option which can be sent directly to your mobile.

Q. Can my mobile phone receive a Mobile Boarding Pass?
A. You need to have an internet enabled phone with the ability to receive emails and display images.

Q. How do I retrieve my Mobile Boarding Pass?
A. Retrieve the email sent to your mobile phone when you completed the online check in process and open the onscreen barcode.

Q. Can I use mobile boarding if my booking contains more than one person?
A. If there is more than one person in your booking this option will not be available to you. But you still have the option to print your boarding pass.

Q. What happens if I cannot retrieve my Mobile Boarding Pass at the airport?
A. You can use the airport Self-Service Check-In machines to print a copy or speak to an American Airlines member of staff.
