We’ve partnered with other airlines to bring you more destinations and a seamless travel experience. If your trip with us includes a flight with our partners, you’ll enjoy:
Even more destinations and flight schedules
Checking your bag only once – we'll transfer it to your next flight
Earning and redeeming AAdvantage® miles
Booking your flight
Our partnerships allow us to sell flights operated by other airlines. This means you can combine flights on American with other partner airlines to create a single trip for an easier flight connection.
Check in with the airline of your first flight to get boarding passes for your entire trip. You’ll only have to check your bag once too – we’ll transfer it between flights. Keep in mind bag policies might differ between airlines, so be sure to check before you go.
Get access to clubs and lounges around the world. There are different ways to become eligible – whether you have a ticket in qualifying premium cabin, a Citi® AAdvantage® Executive card, are an Admirals Club® member or have qualifying status.
American Airlines and JetBlue are winding down the innovative Northeast Alliance.
As of July 21, 2023 codeshare flights between American and JetBlue will no longer be available for sale and you will no longer be able to redeem miles for flight awards on JetBlue. Existing flight award reservations will be honored but changes will not be allowed.
Status benefits and mileage accrual on JetBlue-operated flights will be granted to members who added their AAdvantage® or TrueBlue Mosaic member number to their ticketed reservation prior to July 21, 2023 for travel through January 31, 2024.
We will continue to work with our partner JetBlue to ensure customers with existing codeshare bookings can travel seamlessly without disruption to their travel plans.
